Hi Folks,
I am a descendant of Zoath Spooner of Screven County, Georgia. I descend through his daughter Elizabeth Spooner Griner, wife of William J. Griner. That couple were the grandparents of my g-grandmother Annie Griner Taylor.
If you are interested in Zoath (Zoar) Spooner and his presence in Screven County, Georgia - then the county library offers a searchable database of records. These are PDF image files copying the remaining contents of the Hollingsworth Card Catalog. Members of the Hollingsworth family long conducted genealogical research in Screven County. The card catalog of their records contains abstracts and descriptions of deeds and records from Screven County.

And, as an example of it usefulness, I've run searches on the names 'Zoar Spooner', 'Zoeth Spooner', and just the surname Spooner. We have five separate search results for both 'Zoar' and 'Zoeth'. The search for the Spooner surname produces 23 different names, with three of them appearing to be variations upon Zoath (Zoar).

I am a Great Great Great Grandson of Joseph Spooner, lived mid-19th century in South Georgia. Died in Early County, Georgia. His daughter, Amanda Spooner Fiveash, 1835-1934, lived and died in the same county. Her husband was John Reddick Fiveash. I joined the Sons of the American Revolution as a descendant of Zoeth Spooner. Please email me so we can work on this case together. William L. Ankerman
